Originally the home of an artist, it sits in a certified wildlife sanctuary with stunning views of the Diyawanna Lake.

Why is it called Aathma?
Aathma means "soul." The name reflects our belief that travel should connect you with the soul of a place through its people, food, nature, art and stories. Every corner of the house has been designed to express the spirit of Sri Lanka while making guests feel they are staying in a cherished family home.
Why is this location special?
Aathma occupies a rare private peninsula beside Diyawanna Lake, bordering the Beddagana Wetland and its abundant birdlife. It offers the tranquillity of nature while remaining just minutes from Colombo's restaurants, museums, shopping and cultural landmarks - making it the only place in Colombo where guests can experience both city and sanctuary in the same stay.
